Zara McGovern – Care Director

“I started Apollo Care Liverpool because I believe everyone deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and kindness—especially when they’re at their most vulnerable. Having worked closely with individuals and families with a range of needs, I understand how vital trust, consistency, and compassion really are.

We don’t just deliver care. We build genuine relationships. Whether supporting with daily tasks, offering companionship, or delivering more complex care, our team makes sure each person feels valued and empowered at home.”

Outside of work: I enjoy travelling and spending time with friends and family, especially my sons, Joseph and Leighton.

John McGovern – Care Manager

“My passion for improving care started when I saw the support my own relatives received. I felt our local community deserved better, and I wanted to be part of the change.

When the opportunity to run Apollo Care Liverpool came up, I knew it was the right path.

I focus on recruiting great carers, developing personalised care plans, and continuously improving the services we provide.”

Outside of work: I’m a lifelong Everton fan and love visiting football grounds across Europe. I also enjoy travelling with Zara and our two little Evertonians, Joseph and Leighton.

Caitlin MacDougall – Deputy Manager

“I’ve worked in care since 2017, beginning in an EMI nursing home before moving into domiciliary care in 2021. After the pandemic, supporting people in their own homes felt like the right move—and it’s where I’ve found some of the most meaningful moments in my career.”

Outside of work: I love walking my cocker spaniel and planning my next trip. I work hard and holiday often.

Claire Grace – Care Coordinator

“With a strong background in health and social care, I make sure every individual we support receives high-quality, personalised care that promotes dignity, independence, and respect.

My role includes managing care packages, coordinating with care teams and professionals, and maintaining open, honest communication with clients and their families.

I care deeply about our community and always aim to go the extra mile—whether it’s through thoughtful scheduling or simply being there to listen.”

Outside of work: I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren and getting out for long walks.

Julie Roche – Recruitment and Retention Manager

“I focus on finding passionate, skilled people to join our care team and making sure they feel supported, valued, and motivated from day one.

Recruitment in domiciliary care isn’t just about filling roles. It’s about finding the right fit for the team and the people we care for.

I’m here to champion our carers, listen to their needs, and help build long-term careers where people feel proud of what they do.”

Outside of work: I love spending time with my family, socialising with friends, and playing golf and cricket. I even played for North Cricket Club in my prime.

Chloe Roche – Client Supervisor

“With over 10 years’ experience in health and social care, I bring a personal, hands-on approach to everything I do.

I coordinate care plans, support our brilliant care teams, and act as a key contact for clients and families to make sure everything runs smoothly and every voice is heard.

For me, quality care isn’t just a service, it’s personal. My aim is always to make a genuine difference every day.”

Outside of work: I enjoy socialising, spending time with my nieces and nephews, and getting creative in the kitchen.
